Trade Inventory Simulation for Sell-Out Forecasting
Problem :
Sell-out data simulation was managed manually, leading to inefficiencies in tracking versions, prolonged validation cycles, and lack of transparency across departments. Version control issues further complicated collaboration and delayed consensus on planning.
Solution :
A digital simulation platform was built using React, Redux-Saga, MUI for the frontend, and FastAPI (Python) on GCP for the backend. The solution enables users to simulate sell-out data, observe its impact on coverage days and stock-on-hand (SOH), and compare KPI performance across scenarios. Each planning cycle includes three versions-V1, V2, and V3-with historical tracking and data transfer from earlier versions.
Outcome :
Manual processes were eliminated, and the simulation workflow became streamlined and transparent. Versioning logic allowed structured tracking of simulation progress. Departments could now collaborate more effectively, and KPI validation became faster and more reliable.
