Problem :
Manual updates to the taxonomy mapping file each Mars period often resulted in missed schedules, data quality issues, and stale navigation scores in Power BI dashboards. These delays impacted stakeholder trust and reporting reliability.
Solution :
An automated pipeline was created using PySpark, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory to read the taxonomy mapping file from the Azure Data Lake and calculate navigation scores. The scheduled trigger ensures regular updates every Mars period, with built-in email alerts.
Outcome :
The process became 100% free of manual intervention. Dashboards were always up to date, incidents decreased significantly, and reporting accuracy improved for end users.
